state the characteristics of a cold front

The characteristics of a cold front are follows:-
a) the slope is greater near the surface where fronts progress is retarded by the friction.
b) the slope of the cold front is 1 to 50.
c) at the cold front dense Polar (P) Maritime (Pm) air mass under cuts warm tropical (T) Maritime (Tm) air mass.
d) Due to steepened frontal slopes there is vigorous uplift of arm 'Tm' air which leads to pronounced vertical development of cloud.
e) precipitation occurs in the form odf torrential rain showers & hailstorms, with thunderstorm development & Tornadoes.
f)the duration of cold front cloud & precipitation is very small since, the horizontal extent of the cumulus cloud cover is about 1000 km less than the warm front cover.
g) Immediately behind the actual cold front zone ,the cold dense 'Pm' air subsides into flattened cumulus humilis clouds & this subsidence is usually accentuated by the approaching high pressure cell or ridge.
h) Clouds like cirrus, cumulonimbus, cumulus humilis, cumulus congestus are found.
