Wake up Indians:Dont you know its time to change from windows to Mint/Zorin operating system

5-7 years back if you remember windows XP was the most important and abundantly available operating system. Then came vista but it was not able to leave its mark as a good operating system. Then appeared windows 7,in a very short gap came windows 8 and then its 8.1 version and now windows 10.

Now around you you will see several versions of windows OS(7,8,8.1.10) along with their different editions (home,ultimate,enterprise,standard).Apart from that there are 32 bit and 64 bit editions.

So, many versions and so many editions but still so many updates,bug fixes and still that patented instability of windows OS and fear of virus and malware. Windows 7 onwards, Microsoft is seriously trying to make you pay for their OS under one pretext or the other. Many times Microsoft comes bundled with Dell, Lenovo laptop or other brands.

Moreover, Microsoft has started carrying out security audits in business establishments to see whether any business unit is using crack or pirated version of windows.I have seen this audit underway in my next office. Don't be too sure that they will not come for you because you live in a town and you are an individual. Change when you still have the option.

Have you ever questioned yourself-
  • Why should you pay for an operating system which is still so buggy and security breach prone inspite of so many years of development and so many changes in version and editions?
  • Is it not your right to decide which version of OS you are going to use with your laptop,if you have paid for the entire hardware that came with your laptop?
  • why should a company impose upon you what is old and need to be discarded?(your scanner/printer driver is not working because it was compatible with windows xp and now you have moved to windows 10 and you are planning to buy a new compatible scanner or printer)

If you want to use it in your desktop use Linux Mint operating system,even ubuntu too will do well(but I would suggest Linux Mint). If your are planning to use it in your laptop go for zorin operating system. If you want to use Linux on very old hardware which you are planning to sell - use puppy linux operating system.

If you are planning to use your laptop simply for mail, surfing and chatting you can go for Cub linux which is a very close copy of google chromebook OS. I will come up with detailed review of these OSs in near future.

Airtel DTH: Error B001/Error B003 and Why I left Airtel possibly for Better

Why did I decided to Leave?  It has been 2 weeks since I complained about B001 error and Airtel in between replaced 2 set top boxes but problem remained. I have replaced everything as per "diagnosis" of airtel DTH technician but no solution could be reached. Currently, my balance has been deducted from INR200 to INR 10. There are discrepancies with the bills issued against parts replacements conducted during this period. It must be stressed here that I as a customer felt cheated, neglected, harassed by Airtel +Service Partner and I was a 7-8 years+ customer. Why do isotherms shift north & south from season to season?

An isotherm is an imaginary line drawn on a weather chart or map to join places of equal temperature.
