Review from an audience about Film :Ae Dil Hai Mushkil
I have read the reviews in some of the leading newspapers' online editions on this film. I feel they have been bribed to give a biased review. The film as I found is a world where one man (Ayan,i.e., Ranvir kapoor) leads an uncommitted life with 3 ladies who themselves are polygamous(The first chick who is a christian,2 remaining - Anushka Sharma and Aishwariya Rai Bacchan who are muslims).
The film is wholely shot in foreig locations as all these people happen to be working or studying and staying abroad. Ranvir kapoor is shown as a MBA student who does everything else except studies.
Anushka Sharma, has a lot of time for Ranvir Kapoor and yoga and stuff. all the characters in this film show people with disturbed past lives - Ayan's mother(Ranvir Kapoor's character) fled with someone else and his filthy rich dad doesnt like him. So, Ayan received his mental condition from his easily available attitude from his mother and living life king size from his dad.
He could call his private jet over phone more easily than a normal Indian can call ola or Uber. Everyone is rich in the film,"Filthy rich" to be more precise. Anushka Sharma is the youngest of the 4 siblings and disliked by her father. She had a long term boyfriend (Fawad Khan) and something happened she came to london to seek peace of mind.
Aishwariya Rai Bachchan, plays the role of a cougar and she is muslim. She also happens to be a "shayar" with 2 published books, which looked to me like class-12 chemistry books. The very little I know about shayars', they are very conservative leave alone being a cougar.Readers' just try to remember your language teacher, you will know what I mean. She is a good friend of Shah Rukh Khan who happens to be a "famous" painter and a muslim.A painter and a would be singer (Ayan- Ranveer Kapoor) and a Shayar (Aishwariya) were having a conversation full of sexual undertones in a art gallery where Shah Rukh khan's works were being exhibited and the occasion to where Ranveer Kapoor was instroduced to Shahrukh. It appeared very cheap, odd and out of context to me.
Anushka is a girl with a lot of attitude and personal firmness but she is also a freeloader otherwise. She hops into Ayan's private jet and shares single hotel rooms without qualms but she is strict that she cant become lady love of Ayan till the very end of the film.
Ranveer Kapoor being a freeloader, lives later in Anushka Sharma's flat...when she got cancer and Aishwariya's Apartment when they got "attracted". Then there is the marriage scene, I have never heard of a muslim marriage with "haldi ki rasm" ritual and sangeet. The marriage venue was full of young, size zero Indian and foreign chicks but no senior family member. Anushka's parent's kicked her out or disowned her or whatever...but what about Fawad Khan's family side?
Ranveer Kapoor started singing with different western bands and sleeping on not so posh looking apartments finally manages to become a singing sensation. If you are so rich that you can telephone an aeroplane, why not pump your own money and release a music album....why take the hard route? If your dad, foots the bills of your today London tomorrow Vienna, next day Paris lifestyle then he is not keeping a tab on your spendings....but the film had to stretch so Ranveer Kapoor had to struggle.
The film can be summerized to -
1) In the film "Pink" by Amitabh Bachchan, "No meant No" which is very true but here Anushka Sharma's repeated "No" fell to deaf ears of Ayan (Ranveer Kapoor). He never left stalking her leading to divorce.
2) Commitment is not important but in real life, in every phase of your life commitment and integrity is highly valued and desired trait.
3) Here, Ayan was shown as a person with "good" intention towards ladies. It could be otherwise in reality. Super rich guy may be more interested in sexually exploiting you...so girls be careful.
4) You can be successful with a disturbed past life and current life - as fast as bullet train. See Amitabh Bachchan,Shahrukh Khan,Sachin Tendulkar,Rahul Dravid all are a class in themselves. They were married to 1 lady and stayed that way - "committed".
5) You can be easily successful. Ayan, as portrayed here without a formal training because a singer. There was only one in the industry who achieved that height with zero rigorous training - Kishore Kumar.
6) You have to be rich to befriend and have the time to befriend so many girls/women one after another. This film is possibly not for any Indian.
With this budget far better film in terms of content could be achieved. I am appalled that Indian filmgoers still entertain these dumb ass movies. If most Bollywood producers are Punjabis' does'nt imply that they get free license to portray only punjabi marriage with every occasion.Bollywood films are for biharis, maharashtrians, bengalis, etc. So, portray them too in the not that dumb ass was as has been done here.
I also fear that the issue raised by MNS and the 5 crore ransom to allow the film is a well chosen business strategy to gain sympathetic viewership and income from these sympathetic viewers to minimize losses.
